Dr. William A. Wine

Dr. William A. Wine is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow who practices in the Toronto area as an Addictionologist, Pain Management Specialist, Psychotherapist , and Physician specializing in Evidence Based Integrative and Naturopathic Medicine. Complex cases are referred to him which require multidisciplinary treatment plans, or Medicolegal Consultation.

He is a Court Qualified Expert Witness in Forensic Toxicology. He was a Consultant to the LeDain Commission in the area of Behavioural Pharmacolgy of Cannabis. He is a long time colleague of Dr. Harold Kalant and Dr. Lester Grinspoon. He is also a full Member of the Ontario Psychological Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is the Canadian Regional Director of the American Naturopathic Medical Association (Board Certified). His multidisciplinary training and specific expertise in the Neurobiology and Pharmacology of pain, addiction and neuropsychiatric disorders has enabled him to discriminate the common threads, distinctions, differential diagnoses, for these, sometimes overlapping, patient populations; as well as to formulate treatment plans and monitor progress for them, in a manner that complies with audit procedures. He has been on staff at the University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry and at the Donwood Institute.

He has a family with a six month old son and practices yoga and meditation on a daily basis.
